The Visual Nexus software solution consists of three main components:
- The software video bridge – a videoconferencing MCU (multi-point control unit) and gatekeeper. This server software controls all of the calls being made on the system and hosts the multi-point virtual meetings.

The Visual Nexus software is based on industry standards for interoperability with videoconferencing equipment and supports standard definition (SD), high definition (HD) video streams, as well as mixed SD and HD streams in the same multi-point virtual meeting.
