Learn to use Visual Nexus Version 4

Setting up the audio on your Visual Nexus software

The audio capabilities of Visual Nexus are among the very best available.  However to get the best out of the system you need to consider carefully which headsets, speakers or microphones to use.  Visual Nexus has a media kit data sheet available to download here which lists some recommended devices.

What ever audio equipment you use, it is important to run the Visual Nexus audio set up wizard.  You can start the wizard from Meeting Manager by selecting [Tools] [Configurations] [Endpoint Configuration…].  This will launch the Endpoint Configuration Option Window.  If you are not using either a headset or an echo cancelling microphone/speaker, you should select the Use Visual Nexus Echo Cancellation box.  Next click on the blue [Click to Calibrate Audio] bar to start the audio calibration.  This will take you to the microphone setup window.

Microphone Set up

First make sure the correct microphone is selected in the drop down menu.  Next, click on [Start Tuning]. Speak normally into your microphone and you will see the audio bar move up and down.  Move the slider so that the level moves up to about level two.

Once you are happy with the level of your microphone you can click on [Next] to move on to the next part of the audio wizard.

Speaker Set up

The second part of the audio wizard sets up the volume in the speaker system.

You should first make sure that the right speaker or headphones are selected in the drop down menu.

Next you should click the [start tuning] button and listen to the music.  Move the slider bar to get the level that you want. Once you are happy with the sound level click {Finish} to end the audio wizard.
